Characterization of energy consumption agents in the residential sector of Ecuador based on a national survey and geographic information systems for modelling energy systems
Highlights
Consumers (agents) are characterised using a long national survey in Ecuador.
The survey is combined with Geographic Information Systems.
The survey allows defining the main motivations, investment objectives and decision method of agents when renewing or maintaining residential energy technologies.
Results are presented by income level for each group of agents and agents are geolocated, characterizing them spatially.
Quantitative attributes of each agent are determined to be used in energy systems modelling.
